complete medical system in the world. For more than 5000 years
Ayurveda is a Rich, Comprehensive outlook to a healthy life.
Combined with Yoga it is a complete Mental, Physical and Spiritual
Rejuvenation. Ayurveda is not simply a health care system but a form
of lifestyle adopted to maintain perfect balance and harmony within
the human existence, from the most abstract transcendental values to
the most concrete physiological expressions. Based on the premise
that life represents an intelligent co-ordination of the Atma
(Soul), Mana (Mind), Indriya (Senses) and Sharira (Body). That
revolves around the five dense elements that go into the making of
the constitution of each individual, called Prakriti. Which in turn
is determined by the vital balance of the three physical energies -
Vata, Pitta, Kapha and the three mental energies - Satwa, Rajas,
Tamas. Ayurveda offers a unique blend of science and philosophy that
balances the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual components
necessary for holistic health.
The
word
YOGA means "union" in Sanskrit, the language
of ancient India where yoga originated. It is the union occurring
between the mind, body and spirit. What is commonly referred to as "yoga"
can be more accurately described by the Sanskrit word ASANA; which
refers to the practice of physical postures or poses. Asana is only
one of the eight "limbs" of yoga, the majority of which
are more concerned with mental and spiritual well being than
physical activity. Yoga is really about creating balance in the body
through developing both strength and flexibility. The union between
the Jivatman and Paramatman that is between one's individual
consciousness and the Universal Consciousness YOGA refers to a
certain state of consciousness as well as to methods that help one
reach that goal or state of union with the divine. The main 5-
principles of Yoga include Proper Exercise, Proper Breathing, Proper
Relaxation, Proper Diet and Positive Thinking & Meditation.
