Royal Bengal Tigers amidst mud-clad Crocodiles, hopping Cheetals and
most amazing wildlife with adventure cruising on the submerged parts
of Sundarbans and the larges mangroves and forests in the world.
Situated
on the lower end of the Gangetic West Bengal in India this is world’s
largest delta. A land of 54 tiny islands, crisscrossed by
innumerable tributaries of river Ganga that was once infested by
Arakanese and Portuguese pirates is now the abode of varied flora &
fauna population. An area of 9630 sq. km., where 70 percent is under
saline water makes the life of commoners, mostly honey-catchers,
prawn-catchers and fishermen, very difficult. This is Sundarbans,
the world’s largest estuarine forest.
Special Permission is
required for cruising at Sundarbans to explore thrills of a life
time and close encounter with the wild. While cruising through the
brackish kharris flanked by dense mangrove forests all around in
from the wide open upper deck you can watch the forest vibrant with
life while sipping your morning tea.
Permission for river cruise
: A general river cruise requires no approval. But to visit places
outside the core area permission should be taken from the
authorities.
Day : 1 Kolkata - SundarbanYou
will be greeted by our representative in Kolkata in the morning to
be picked up and drive to Sundarbans. Exclusive air conditioned
vehicle will drive you to Sonakhali (3 Hrs). At Sonakhali an
exclusive boat will be waiting for you at the jetty to transfer you
to the Wildlife Resort (2 hrs of cruising)
Arrive at the
wildlife resort in Sundarbans located deep inside the forests. You
will be welcomed in a traditional manner to complete the Permits and
check in formalities. Later in the day after Lunch, change, wash and
some rest go for sightseeing by exclusive boat to Sajnekhali Tiger
Project Area for some wildlife viewing, wildlife museum and the
Watch Tower. Return back to the resort in the evening. Enjoy tea/
coffee and snacks, have a panoramic view form the watch tower at the
resort. Enjoy Dinner over bonfire on get-together amidst folk dance
and music by local artists and villagers. Overnight stay is at the
resort.
Day : 2 Sundarban Tiger ToursTea/
Coffee will be served at the wakeup call in the morning at the
resort. Later go for exclusive boat cruising in the creeks of
Sundarbans deep inside the forest land and cluster of islands of the
Sundarban Tiger project for wildlife viewing, Tiger Tracking and
visit to Sudhanyakhali watch tower. Breakfast will be served on Boat
while cruising. Return back to the resort for some rest, leisure and
adventure activities like angling, fishing etc.
After lunch at
the resort go for a visit to Dobanke Watch tower situated deep
inside the forest cruising to the Tiger’s Den. While returning
visit some local villages to interact with the villagers to explore
the local art, culture and life in the rural Bengal.
Return back
to the resort in the evening. Enjoy tea/ coffee and snacks, have a
panoramic view form the watch tower at the resort. Enjoy Dinner over
bonfire on get-together amidst folk dance and music by local artists
and villagers.
Overnight
stay is at the resort.
Day : 3 Sundarban -
KolkataTea / Coffee will be served at the wakeup call
in the morning at the resort. Later go for early morning cruise
though the forest to Sudanyakhali watchtower. Visit to Pirkahali,
Gazikahali, Sadakkhali, etc. These are the places where the chances
of viewing tiger are more. Breakfast will be served on the boat
while cruising. Return back to resort to check out and transfer to
Sonakhali where the car will be waiting for you to be transferred to
Kolkata. Depending upon your onwards tour program you will be either
transferred to the hotel or to the airport to board connecting
flight to your onwards destination. Later fly back to your country
with the everlasting memories of magnificent glimpses of The royal
Bengal tiger in Sundarbans and Incredible India.
